| It was October, 1978. St. Olaf College, Minnesota. 50 degrees. Good for running. Hilly darn course. But steeled by 100 mile training weeks and that awesome hawk claw necklace (claw gleaned from a roadkill red tail, not exactly legal then or any time...and never again...) we ran to a team title and ultimately wound up second in the country. What a lot of fun that was. Fit. Young. Fast. Hope heaven is just like this picture. | ||||||||||||||||||||
